The Morgan vs. Old Ironsides

Just when I thought there is nothing else I could possibly do that has never been done, the U.S.S. Constitution and the Charles W. Morgan, this nation’s oldest military and commercial ships, are now docked together at the Charlestown Navy Yard.

So in honor of the two ships coming together, here are some cool historical tidbits I learned comparing the similarities and differences of these unique vessels.

Special thanks to the captain and crew of the U.S. S. Constitution for letting our crew climb aloft, and of course thanks to the ship’s historian Margherita Desy for her infinite knowledge and accommodations while the Morgan was docked in Charlestown.

Boston will never be the same!
